Laura serves as an independent director at Calderwood, a fund governance firm based in the Cayman Islands, where she serves as an Independent Director on the boards of investment funds and related structures, advising on corporate governance and regulatory compliance. Laura brings deep experience to fund governance, having served on private fund boards for over 15 years. Over the past twenty years, Laura served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of James River Capital Corp., an SEC-registered investment advisor and a registered CPO/CTA with the National Futures Association, and President of its affiliated FINRA-registered member firm, where she oversaw operations and legal/compliance for both internally and externally managed funds across a variety of strategies and asset classes. Laura also served as Chief Compliance Officer of those entities. Laura received her B.A. (1994) from the University of Virginia and her J.D. (1998) from the University of Richmond. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar Association, American Bar Association and holds FINRA License 7, 24, 31, and 66. She is a registered director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.
