John Rogic, CFA, MBA, PE

At Golden Pear, John develops systematic, on-chain trading strategies that bridge traditional market principles with the emerging dynamics of decentralized finance. His work is driven by a passion for understanding how technology, decentralized finance, and global systems are converging to reshape markets and the future of economic activity.

John is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Professional Engineer (PE), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and former professional ice hockey player who brings a unique blend of competitive drive, technical expertise, and analytical rigor.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where he captained the NCAA Division I ice hockey team before competing professionally in the ECHL. Following his athletic career, he spent five years as an engineer in the petroleum industry, designing petrochemical technologies for leading global energy companies. In 2017, while still working as an engineer, he began actively participating in crypto and financial markets—an inflection point that ultimately led him to pursue an MBA at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and transition into a career in public markets.
